Providing essential healthcare services within a school setting, this position requires a certified school nurse to support the well-being of students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role involves managing day-to-day healthcare needs for approximately 800 students, working closely with a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to deliver quality care.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) certificate required
- Experience in school nursing, particularly with K-12 populations
- Ability to manage a large student caseload efficiently
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfort working in collaboration with support staff, including a CNA
Location:
- Washington, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing services to students within the school environment
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency care as needed
- Monitor and manage chronic conditions and other health concerns
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote student health
- Participate in health education and wellness programs
Schedule and Assignment Details:
- Full-time contract position
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- Assignment includes one school site with an approximate student population of 800
- Immediate start with the contract ending at the close of the school year
