Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse excited to make a positive impact in an elementary school setting. This contract opportunity, located near Warwick, RI, involves supporting students health and wellness for one elementary school. You will have consistent hours (20 per week) from now through June 20th, allowing you to develop meaningful connections and provide ongoing care in a close-knit educational environment.
Your day-to-day work will focus on elementary students, addressing their medical needs, promoting a healthy school atmosphere, and collaborating with dedicated school staff. Supervision is provided, and youll work alongside paraprofessionals, RBT, CNA, or fellow LPN team members as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN license valid in Rhode Island
- Experience working with elementary-age children preferred
- Strong assessment and communication skills
- Ability to manage student health plans and respond quickly in emergency situations
- Passionate about making a difference in young lives
- School nursing experience a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily health care to elementary students
- Administer medications, provide first aid, and manage chronic conditions
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to support safe learning environments
- Educate staff and students on health and wellness topics as needed
- Participate in school safety and emergency preparedness drills
This position offers part-time hours, a steady schedule, and the chance to contribute to the wellbeing of an energetic school community. Fingerprint clearance and school onboarding are required prior to your start date.
