A full-time Registered Nurse is sought for a school-based contract position in Warren, MI. This role involves providing skilled nursing services to medically fragile students within a school setting, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in student health and well-being.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct nursing care to students with complex medical needs such as tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube management, seizure monitoring, lifting, and toileting assistance.
- Managing caseloads ranging from 1:1 nursing support to small groups of students.
- Collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive student care.
- Maintaining accurate health records and adhering to healthcare protocols within the school environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric healthcare settings preferred.
- Ability to manage medically fragile students independently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work a 35-hour week throughout the school year (tentative dates for 2026-2027).
Location: Warren, MI
