A unique opportunity is available for a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide specialized transportation nursing support for a student with autism and seizure disorder in Waltham, MA. This contract position offers focused, meaningful work with consistent daily hours in a school-related setting.
Location:
Waltham, MA
Assignment Details:
- Provide nursing support during student transportation to and from school
- Morning shift: 7:00 AM pickup from the students home and drop off at Beverly School for the Deaf. Nurse returns to Waltham by van.
- Afternoon shift: 1:00 PM pickup in Waltham, assist student from school for return transport
- Student has complex medical needs including autism and seizure disorder; non-speaking
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed RN or LPN in the state of Massachusetts
- Experience working with children, especially those with seizure disorders and developmental disabilities
- Ability to manage health and safety during transit in a calm and professional manner
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical oversight and care during transportation
- Monitor students health condition and respond promptly to any issues
- Collaborate with school staff and caregivers as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and observations
