This contract opportunity is tailored for Registered Nurses eager to make an impact in an educational setting nearby Torrance, CA. As part of an Extended School Year (ESY) Program, you'll support students and staff by providing essential health services on a part-time basis throughout the summer.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California with active status
- Prior experience in school-based nursing is required
- Credentialed RN candidates are strongly preferred
- Must be able to commit to working the entire program duration and daily hours (June 17, 2026 July 17, 2026)
- Able to efficiently commute to the site and provide dependable transportation
- Demonstrated ability to respond to student health needs, emergencies, and collaborative care situations
Responsibilities:
- Deliver routine and emergency nursing care to students and staff during regular program hours (M-F, 8AM-12:30PM or 8:30AM-1PM)
- Maintain accurate health documentation and collaborate with education staff to support student needs
- Administer prescribed medications and manage chronic health plans
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to health-related incidents onsite
- Promote a healthy learning environment and monitor for signs of illness or distress
