A healthcare opportunity is available in the Greater Tampa Bay Area, Florida, for dedicated RN or LPN professionals with experience in school-based nursing. This full-time contract position involves providing one-on-one support to a student with complex medical needs, including gastrostomy tube (gtube), tracheostomy (trach), and epilepsy.
Location: Tampa, FL
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Position Type: Contract
Work Setting: School-based, one-on-one care
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care focused on students with specialized medical diagnoses including gtube, trach, and epilepsy
- Monitor and manage students health status throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with educational staff and families to ensure continuity of care
- Administer medications and treatments per established care plans
- Maintain detailed documentation compliant with school and healthcare regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida RN ASN or LPN/LVN licensure
- Current CPR certification
- Previous experience working in school or pediatric nursing preferred
- Ability to handle complex medical equipment and recognize emergency situations
