Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois RN license required
- Prior experience working as an RN in a school environment or with pediatric populations is strongly preferred
- Confident in trach care, including airway monitoring and suctioning
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
- Compassionate communicator, collaborative with staff and students
Role Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, individualized nursing support to a high school-aged student during regular school hours (35 hours, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break)
- Consistently monitor tracheostomy, perform airway suctioning as needed, and document any changes or interventions
- Ensure safety precautions are followed throughout various classroom and campus settings
- Coordinate with teachers and staff to support the students academic day and participation
- Assist the student in daily medication administration and basic care as outlined in her health plan
- No bus riding or coverage for additional students required
