Job Description
A healthcare professional with expertise in school nursing is needed to provide essential care and support to students from kindergarten through grade 12 in a school setting located in Swanton, VT. This position is a contract role offering 3 to 5 workdays per week, supporting the health office and managing the medical needs of students at a single school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care to students in accordance with school health policies and state regulations
- Administer medications, conduct health screenings, and provide first aid as needed
- Manage chronic health conditions, develop health care plans, and respond to emergencies
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health and well-being
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students on caseload
Qualifications:
- Active Vermont RN or LPN license is required
- Previous experience in school nursing or working with pediatric populations is preferred
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent health issues and developmental stages
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
