Job Description

A school nursing position is available for a certified RN or CSN to support student health in a dynamic school district located in the Morgan Hill and surrounding areas of California, including San Jose, Gilroy, and San Martin. This contract role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to student well-being through essential health services during the school year, following the student calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hearing and vision screenings for students across multiple schools.
  • Provide nursing support in collaboration with the existing school nursing team.
  • Manage health accommodations and respond to varied health needs among the student population.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health policies and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate with school staff regarding student health concerns.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid California certification as a Certified School Nurse (CSN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently within the school day structure.
  • Commitment to supporting student health and safety following public health guidelines.

Location & Schedule:

  • Work locations include schools in Morgan Hill, San Jose, Gilroy, San Martin, and nearby areas.
  • Part-time schedule of approximately 6 hours per day aligned with the student calendar.
  • Contract duration extends through the end of the current school year.
