We are currently seeking qualified Sign Language Interpreters for two full-time opportunities near Suffolk, Virginia for the upcoming school year. This is a great opportunity to support students in an educational setting and make a meaningful impact.
Position Details:
- Location: Suffolk, VA area
- Schedule: MondayFriday
- Dates: August 10, 2026 June 4, 2027
- Full-time, school-based positions
Openings:
- Elementary School Setting: 9:00 AM 4:00 PM
- High School Setting: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Requirements:
- Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher and a passing score on the written test
- Other qualifications deemed equivalent by the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH)
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students in the classroom and school environment
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Support student access to educational content and activities
