Key criteria for consideration:
- Current, valid RN or LPN license required
- Previous 1:1 nursing experience with medically complex children strongly preferred
- Comfort and willingness to provide bus ride support to students
- Training or proficiency in ventilator and tracheostomy care highly valued
- Passion for working in educational settings and collaborating with families and staff
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules as needed for bus routes and school activities
- Commitment to professional, compassionate care and clear communication
Role responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized health services to a medically fragile student during school and bus transport
- Monitoring, assessing, and responding to health needs and emergencies
- Administering medications, supporting tube feedings, and providing respiratory care
- Keeping thorough documentation of care provided and incidents as required
- Acting as a liaison between the home, school, and other health professionals
- Maintaining a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for the student
