Step into a rewarding opportunity providing compassionate care to a young student as an experienced Registered Nurse in a supportive school environment. This contract position, based onsite, runs from June 1 through June 26, 2026, and requires approximately 35 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Youll play a vital role supporting a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), ensuring safety during their school day and bus rides.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure
- Experience in pediatric nursing (required)
- Proven proficiency in school nursing settings
- Skilled in NG-tube (nasogastric) care and monitoring
- Ability to lift and transport a non-ambulatory child (~24 lbs)
- Comfortable providing care to students with complex needs
- Reliable for consistent onsite attendance during contracted dates
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on nursing care focused on the needs of a medically fragile student
- Manage NG-tube care, including feeds, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Safely lift and assist a non-ambulatory student as needed for transfers and mobility
- Accompany the child on school bus rides, ensuring optimal safety and attending to medical needs
- Collaborate closely with school staff and families to maintain continuity of care
- Maintain accurate records of all treatments, observations, and communications
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to any medical emergencies or changes in condition
