This part-time opportunity is ideal for a compassionate RN or LPN seeking to work closely with students in a school-based setting. Youll primarily be responsible for ensuring student safety and well-being while accompanying them to and from school each day. Morning and afternoon shifts align with school transportation times, offering a consistent yet flexible schedule for work-life balance.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, unencumbered RN or LPN license
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Comfortable delivering care in a moving vehicle (school bus or van)
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with school staff, parents, and transportation personnel
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to medical situations during transport
- CPR/BLS certification required
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany students with healthcare needs on school transportation routes, ensuring safety from pickup to drop-off
- Monitor and assess student health throughout the journey
- Administer medication or perform medical interventions as prescribed by individual care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding each trip and any incidents or interventions
- Communicate effectively with families, school nurses, and drivers
- Adhere strictly to school and state regulations for student health and transportation
