A part-time nursing opportunity is available in a school setting, supporting a young student with specialized medical needs. The position is located in Somerville, MA, with workdays scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. The assignment starts ASAP and extends through June 30, 2026, with summer work also offered. This role is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with school-based experience and an active Massachusetts nursing license. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and medical assistants are not eligible for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for a 3-year-old student who has a tracheostomy and uses a ventilator when ill
- Assist and ensure the students safety while riding to and from school on a van before and after school hours
- Collaborate with school staff to support the student's health and educational needs
- Maintain accurate health records and comply with all school and state health regulations
Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN licensure in Massachusetts
- Experience working in school nursing environments
- Ability to complete CORI and Fingerprinting background checks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to participate in a Zoom interview
This role involves onsite work at a preschool environment, focusing on a young, ambulatory, and very active student. The position offers professional renewal opportunities for nursing staff. Candidates must be prepared for an immediate start and commit through mid-2026.
