A school seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is looking for a professional to provide dedicated support for a student with medical needs in a K-12 setting. This contract position is based in Solvang, CA, and requires in-person availability to ensure comprehensive care and coordination.
Responsibilities include conducting a triennial reassessment for a student requiring medical support, developing and updating health care plans, and coordinating with a medical aide. The nurse will engage directly with the student and their parents to thoroughly understand and address their concerns and needs. Flexibility in scheduling is available, with the option to complete the required 3 hours per week spread throughout multiple days or consolidated into a single day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid LVN license with current credentials
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Strong skills in case management and coordination of health care services
- Ability to conduct thorough medical assessments and create detailed health care plans
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Commitment to in-person presence for at least one meeting with the student and parents
