Job Description
A school district in Solana Beach, California is seeking a qualified Credentialed School Nurse (CSN) for a fulltime, schoolbased contract. This position serves K12 students and focuses on supporting student health, safety, and access to education through comprehensive school nursing services. The ideal candidate is experienced in managing student health needs, collaborating with school teams, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing services to students across assigned school sites
- Develop and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and contribute to IEP and 504 plans
- Administer medications and perform skilled nursing procedures as needed
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and referrals
- Support students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, seizures, and diabetes
- Provide staff training on healthrelated topics and emergency response procedures
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care
- Maintain accurate and compliant health records and documentation
- Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and school staff
Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- California School Nurse Services Credential (CSN) required
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) required
Experience
- Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or community health preferred
- Experience managing multiple school sites or diverse student health needs preferred

Work Hours
- MondayFriday
- 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Approximately 3740 hours per week
