Skills and Experience Required:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
- Previous experience in school nursing or a pediatric healthcare setting is strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Understanding of childhood chronic conditions, medication administration, and emergency response protocols
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage daily routines as well as urgent medical needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine health assessments and provide first aid or emergency care for students and staff as needed
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects or reactions
- Develop and implement care plans for students with chronic health needs in collaboration with school administration and families
- Maintain detailed and confidential health records in compliance with regulations
- Promote healthy lifestyle habits through education and outreach to students, staff, and families
- Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, school personnel, and guardians
- Support infection control measures and respond to potential outbreaks per public health guidelines
