Full-Time School Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Shreveport, LA
Schedule: Full-Time | School Year Position
We are seeking a caring and reliable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a school district in Shreveport, Louisiana for the upcoming school year. This part-time position offers the opportunity to support student health and wellness while maintaining a flexible schedule in a rewarding educational setting.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students during the school day
- Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
- Monitor students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizure disorders
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and healthcare providers to support student success
- Assist with health screenings, immunization compliance, and health education initiatives
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed
- Ensure compliance with state, district, and school health guidelines
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Previous pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
