Job Description

A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support for an upper elementary student with special needs in a school setting in Rohnert Park, CA. This contract assignment runs for the full school year, starting as soon as possible, serving a unique role ensuring the students health and safety both during transportation and throughout the school day.

The position requires an active California RN license with experience in pediatric nursing, especially in diabetes care. You will work independently without direct supervision from paraprofessionals or other nursing staff, taking full responsibility for the students health needs during school hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: approximately 7:45 AM3:45 PM; Wednesday: 7:45 AM1:15 PM). Strong clinical judgment, reliability, and a compassionate approach to working with children with special health care needs are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled nursing care and diabetic management for an upper elementary special needs student
  • Accompany the student during transportation to and from school and throughout the school day
  • Monitor health status and respond promptly to any medical issues or emergencies
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school staff and parents
  • Adhere to school district health and safety protocols, including fingerprint clearance requirements

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Experience in pediatric or school nursing, particularly with diabetic care
  • Ability to work independently in a high-responsibility role
  • Reliable availability during the designated school hours
  • Compliance with background checks and fingerprinting clearance
