Job Description

This contract opportunity seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide essential health services within the school setting. The role primarily involves conducting hearing and vision screenings and supporting existing school nurses in line with the academic calendar.

Location: Positions are available within various schools across the Santa Clara County area, including San Jose, Gilroy, San Martin, and Morgan Hill, California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hearing and vision screenings for students of varying ages and needs.
  • Support and collaborate with school nursing staff to manage student healthcare requirements.
  • Follow the school districts student calendar, working approximately six hours per day.
  • Provide health services in compliance with relevant standards and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California RN or CSN license. LVN credentials may also be considered.
  • Experience working in a school or pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a caseload involving students with diverse disabilities and health needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in a school environment.

This contract position starts as soon as possible and runs through the end of the current school year, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student health and wellbeing.
