A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position is available at a K-12 school in Santa Barbara, CA, for a contract covering the current school year. This role involves providing essential nursing support and coordination for a student with medical needs, ensuring comprehensive care and strong communication between the family and school staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a triennial reassessment for a student with complex medical needs.
- Develop, review, and update health care plans and assist with medical aide coordination.
- Meet in person with the student and their parents at least once to assess needs and address medical concerns.
- Provide nursing support during scheduled hours, which can be spread throughout the week or completed in a single day.
- Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and Case Management teams to ensure continuity of care.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Current and valid LVN license.
- Experience working in school health settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare plans and medical aide procedures.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with families, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Position Details:
- Location: Santa Barbara, CA.
- Duration: Contract through the current school year (CSY).
- Schedule: Approximately 3 hours per week, fully in person.
- Start Date: ASAP, beginning June 3rd, 2026.
