This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals credentialed as a School RN, Certified School Nurse (CSN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), seeking to work closely with a diverse student population for the remainder of this academic year.
In this role, youll collaborate with school staff to promote student health and wellness, conduct essential screenings, and support ongoing health initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Valid California credential as a CSN, RN, or LVN
- Experience working with school-aged children is highly preferred
- Proficiency in conducting hearing and vision screenings
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to diverse caseloads, serving multiple schools or ages
- Strong teamwork approach; comfortable collaborating closely with other school nurses
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing support across varied school settings, following the student calendar
- Administer hearing and vision screenings
- Support the district's school nursing team with ongoing health plans and interventions
- Document health information and maintain confidential records
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Address a range of student health needs, including those with mild to complex disabilities
- Ensure compliance with all state and district regulations
