Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license, with eligibility to practice in Minnesota
- Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or community health settings preferred
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage medical records with attention to detail and confidentiality
- Effective communicator with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
- CPR and First Aid certification (may be required)
- Flexible, compassionate, and calm in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including medication administration and emergency response
- Assess student health needs and collaborate on care plans for chronic and acute conditions
- Maintain accurate, confidential health records and documentation
- Act as an advocate for student health, educating staff and families on best practices
- Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and outside health professionals to optimize student outcomes
- Support communicable disease control and health promotion initiatives within the school
