A school-based Registered Nurse is needed to provide dedicated, 1:1 student support for a medically fragile child in Saint Cloud, MN. This contract position involves delivering specialized nursing care in an educational environment, ensuring the student's health needs are met to support their learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive tracheostomy care and manage respiratory equipment including ventilator and nebulizer treatments
- Perform ostomy care and change ostomy bags as required
- Administer nasal medication for seizure control and monitor seizure activity
- Manage G-J tube continuous feedings and address nutritional needs
- Monitor adrenal insufficiency and intervene as necessary
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and supportive educational setting for the student
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of medical procedures and observations
Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota RN license is mandatory
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Proven experience with tracheostomy care is essential
- Pediatric nursing experience is preferred to understand the specific needs of children with complex medical conditions
- Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care in a school setting
