Job Description

This full-time Certified School Nurse position offers a rewarding opportunity to support the physical and emotional health needs of K-12 students in an onsite setting in Royal City, WA. Serving one school, the role focuses on providing comprehensive care that supports student well-being and academic success during the school day and school-sponsored activities throughout the contract school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and address students physical and emotional health as related to their educational process.
  • Initiate referrals for diagnosis and treatment of identified health concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Communicate health issues that may affect learning to relevant school personnel.
  • Utilize evidence-based, student-centered care and performance data to inform nursing interventions.
  • Advocate for students by promoting self-empowerment, self-management, and effective communication.
  • Uphold ethical and equitable nursing practices, respecting student and family autonomy, privacy, and diversity.
  • Develop individualized emergency plans (IEPs) for students with life-threatening medical conditions.
  • Create and manage individual health plans (IHPs) for medically fragile students or those requiring nursing treatments or medication administration.

Qualifications:

  • Certified School Nurse License valid in Washington State.
  • Experience working within the school nursing scope, particularly with K-12 populations.
  • Strong assessment skills and ability to develop individualized health care plans.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills in a school-based setting.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Onsite support provided.
