Step into a rewarding school-based nursing opportunity providing individualized care for a kindergartener with severe needs. This contract position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in a child's life by supporting them on a 1:1 basis for approximately 9 hours per week. Your expertise will ensure the student receives exceptional care and can thrive in their educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN/LVN license
- Prior experience in school nursing, pediatric, or 1:1 care settings
- Demonstrated competence providing care for students with severe medical needs
- Trach care experience is required
- Compassionate communication and collaborative spirit
- Ability to work closely with school staff and families to ensure continuity of care
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized nursing support to a kindergartener during school hours
- Monitor the child's condition and intervene promptly as needed
- Provide tracheostomy care, including monitoring, suctioning, and emergency intervention
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with nursing and school protocols
- Collaborate with educational and medical teams to develop and implement care plans
- Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment to help the student participate fully in school activities
