This full-time, onsite position invites you to make a direct impact by providing essential care and compassionate support to a 3-year-old student who is ventilator dependent.
Your role is crucial in ensuring the students health and safety, collaborating closely with school staff and families, and fostering an inclusive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive 1:1 nursing care to a ventilator-dependent student throughout the school day
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond promptly to emergency situations
- Document health updates, interventions, and communicate with the students care team and family
- Adapt care in collaboration with school staff, therapists, and medical professionals to meet evolving needs
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with school and healthcare guidelines
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois RN license, in good standing
- Previous experience in pediatric care, home health, or acute care preferred
- Proficiency with tracheostomy and ventilator management required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable in a fast-paced school setting
