A healthcare professional with experience in school nursing is needed for a contract position in Rochester, MI. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct nursing care in an educational setting, contributing to the well-being and safety of medically fragile students. The role is full-time, with approximately 35 hours per week, during the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to students with complex medical needs including tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tubes, seizure management, lifting, and toileting assistance
- Manage small caseloads or 1:1 nursing assignments based on student needs
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement health care plans
- Monitor and evaluate student health status and respond to emergencies as necessary
Qualifications:
- Current and active Michigan RN license required
- Previous experience as a school nurse or in a similar pediatric clinical setting preferred
- Ability to manage care for medically fragile children with sensitivity and professionalism
- Strong communication and organizational skills
