Job Description
Step into an enriching contract opportunity supporting students and staff as an RN in a school setting. This onsite, full-time role spans from August 19th to October 9th and will have you actively engaged during the school day, providing essential care and medical oversight across the school community.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Illinois required
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential preferred
- Prior school nursing experience or similar pediatric/education-based healthcare role highly desired
- Familiarity with district/state-specific policies and protocols for school health services strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
- Excellent communication, assessment, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer daily health care to students and staff, including medication administration, first aid, and chronic condition management
- Conduct screenings, health assessments, and contribute to IEP/504 Plan development as needed
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and implement appropriate action plans
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure strict confidentiality
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community health providers for optimal student care
- Educate students and staff on wellness, disease prevention, and health-related topics
