Job Description
A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide 1:1 care for a Kindergarten student with ventilator and tracheostomy needs in a school setting located in Renton, WA. This role requires onsite support throughout the school day, including assistance during transportation on the bus to and from school. When the assigned student is absent, the RN will assist the district by providing nursing support in health rooms or assisting other students as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to a Kindergarten student with specialized medical needs, including ventilator and tracheostomy care
- Support the student during transportation on the school bus
- Monitor and manage the students health throughout the school day
- Assist with nursing duties in district health rooms or with other students when the primary student is absent
- Ensure compliance with school health policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Washington
- Experience working in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
- Ability to manage complex medical needs and emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff and families
Work Schedule and Location:
- Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
- Onsite position in Renton, WA
