This part-time contract opportunity aligns with the 2026/27 academic year and allows you to utilize your nursing expertise while working collaboratively across multiple schools. What were looking for:
- Valid California Certified School Nurse (CA CSN) credential
- RN license with strong knowledge of school healthcare practices
- Experience in conducting vision and hearing screenings, as well as IEP-related evaluations
- Skilled in providing instruction and training for staff on essential medical interventions: Narcan, Epipen, glucagon, albuterol
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to consult with school health teams
- Ability to adapt across various school environments and age groups
Responsibilities include:
- Performing annual vision and hearing screenings for approximately 450 students
- Participating in IEP screenings (around 50 annually)
- Delivering engaging training sessions for staff on emergency medications and response procedures
- Collaborating with other health professionals within the district for holistic care planning
- Consulting with school teams to build effective health strategies that meet student needs
The position offers a flexible schedule with up to 20 hours per week, providing meaningful impact while maintaining work-life balance.
