What were looking for:

  • Valid California Certified School Nurse (CA CSN) credential
  • RN license with strong knowledge of school healthcare practices
  • Experience in conducting vision and hearing screenings, as well as IEP-related evaluations
  • Skilled in providing instruction and training for staff on essential medical interventions: Narcan, Epipen, glucagon, albuterol
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to consult with school health teams
  • Ability to adapt across various school environments and age groups

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing annual vision and hearing screenings for approximately 450 students
  • Participating in IEP screenings (around 50 annually)
  • Delivering engaging training sessions for staff on emergency medications and response procedures
  • Collaborating with other health professionals within the district for holistic care planning
  • Consulting with school teams to build effective health strategies that meet student needs

The position offers a flexible schedule with up to 20 hours per week, providing meaningful impact while maintaining work-life balance.
