This contract role centers on providing essential medical support during mornings and afternoons as students travel to and from school, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout transportation periods.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) with school or pediatric experience, youll play an integral role in the daily routines of children who need medical attention during transit. The position is designed with flexible part-time hours covering both mornings and afternoons, giving you the chance to make a difference while maintaining great work-life balance.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active RN or LPN/LVN license
- Experience with pediatric care or working in a school environment
- Skilled in handling emergency situations and providing care for chronic or acute conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Reliable, punctual, and able to navigate transportation routines with students
- CPR and first aid certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany designated students during morning and afternoon school transportation
- Monitor and manage medical needs during transit, including administering medication and interventions as required
- Document and communicate any health-related incidents or concerns to appropriate school personnel and guardians
- Collaborate with school staff and transportation personnel to develop safe and effective care strategies
- Maintain a caring, calm, and supportive presence for students and families
