A registered nurse is needed to provide specialized nursing care within a school setting in Pontiac, MI. This role offers a travel opportunity, serving medically fragile students who require skilled nursing support throughout the school year, tentatively from 2026 to 2027. The position is full-time, with approximately 35 hours per week, and involves working either one-on-one or with small caseloads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to students with complex medical needs, including tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube feeding, seizure management, lifting, and toileting assistance.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized health plans.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with relevant medical and educational standards.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for student health within the school environment.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage medically fragile students with conditions necessitating specialized nursing interventions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to the school environment.
