A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is available within a school setting in Pontiac, Michigan. This contract role is scheduled for the 2026-2027 school year (dates tentative), with a 35-hour workweek. Multiple positions are open for candidates who hold an active Michigan RN license, as LPNs are not eligible for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to students with medically fragile needs, which may include lifting, toileting, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube management, and seizure response.
- Manage small caseloads or 1:1 nursing assignments, ensuring the health and safety of students throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support individualized health plans and accommodations.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of Michigan is required.
- Experience in school nursing or working with medically complex pediatric populations preferred.
- Ability to perform hands-on nursing care tasks such as lifting and tracheostomy management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with students, families, and school personnel.
