Make a meaningful impact this school year by supporting a young student as a dedicated Bus Riding RN. This short-term contract role involves working closely with a recently diagnosed Type 1 diabetic kindergartner in need of extra care and support during their bus commutes. Your expertise and compassionate presence will help ease the transition for the student and family, ensuring safety and confidence on each ride.
What were looking for:
- Active RN license
- Experience preferred in pediatric or school-based nursing
- Confidence in diabetes care and blood glucose monitoring
- Strong communication skills and a reassuring presence for young children
- The ability to collaborate with school nurses, transportation staff, and families
What youll do:
- Accompany a kindergarten student each day on school bus transportation
- Monitor for signs of diabetic complications and intervene as necessary
- Administer diabetes care procedures as outlined in the students health plan
- Serve as an advocate for the students well-being and safety during transport
- Communicate effectively with the students family and relevant school staff regarding any concerns or needs
