Job Description
A full-time Certified School Nurse position is available in Pittsburgh, PA, supporting a K-12 school with approximately 800 students. This contract role requires a compassionate and organized nurse to provide essential healthcare services within the school environment from the start date ASAP through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students across kindergarten through 12th grade
- Administer medication and treatments according to established protocols
- Conduct health assessments and manage chronic health conditions
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to promote student wellness
- Maintain accurate health records and comply with state and school health regulations
- Supervise and coordinate with the assigned CNA to ensure effective healthcare support
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification is required
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Experience working with school-age children in a school nurse role preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently within a school setting
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Position Details:
- Contract position through the end of the current school year
- Full-time hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Assignment to one school with a caseload of approximately 800 students
