Job Description
A full-time Certified School Nurse position is available for the current school year in a K-12 educational setting in Pittsburgh, PA. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide essential healthcare services to approximately 800 students in a single school building, supporting student health and wellness throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care and health education to students across all grade levels, K-12
- Collaborate with school staff and a Certified Nursing Assistant to manage student health needs
- Maintain health records and ensure compliance with state regulations and school policies
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students as needed
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or referrals when necessary
- Promote a safe and healthy school environment through health screenings and wellness programs
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) certificate required
- Certified School Nurse credential preferred
- Experience working with school-aged children and managing a diverse student caseload
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with school personnel and families
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced school environment
- Demonstrated commitment to student health and safety
Work Schedule and Location:
- Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- One school assignment in Pittsburgh, PA
- Position available immediately, continuing through the end of the current school year
