Job Description
This position seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated one-on-one nursing support for an upper elementary student with special needs. The role includes comprehensive care during the school day, as well as transportation to and from school, with a focus on diabetic management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current California RN license required
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
- Ability to work independently without onsite nursing supervision
- Skilled in diabetes care and managing special needs students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with school staff and family
Location:
- Rohnert Park, CA (serving student attending a non-public school in Marin County)
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized nursing care to the assigned student throughout the school day including transportation
- Monitor and manage diabetic care and other health needs as required
- Collaborate with school personnel and family to ensure student safety and health
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation in accordance with district policies
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, including completion of fingerprinting and other onboarding requirements
Schedule:
- Full school year contract covering approximately 35 hours per week
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:45 AM 3:45 PM (8-hour days)
- Wednesday: 7:45 AM 1:15 PM (5.5 hours)
