This district-wide, full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to provide essential nursing care and leadership across school buildings, with a consistent week-day schedule from 8:15AM to 3:15PM, totaling 35 hours per week. Two positions are available, starting as soon as possible and extending through June 25, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid School Nursing NJ RN license required
- Prior school-based nursing experience is essential
- Comfortable navigating and serving various district locations
- Ability to effectively service a diverse caseload
- Skilled in overseeing the health needs of entire school buildings
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Reliable transportation and readiness for manageable daily commutes
- Must complete onboarding steps: TB test, physical, and fingerprints for both agency and district
- LPN licensure is not eligible for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and preventive nursing care to students
- Respond promptly to health emergencies and collaborate with school staff
- Maintain up-to-date health records, manage medication administration, and develop health plans
- Educate students, families, and staff on health topics and best practices
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and district representatives to advocate for student wellness
- Monitor and manage public health concerns within the school setting
