A full-time Registered Nurse position is available to provide dedicated school nursing services in a middle school setting. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 9, 2026, working Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week. The position focuses on managing the health needs of a middle school student who requires specialized care, including tracheostomy support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled care for a student with a tracheostomy, ensuring safety and adherence to established health protocols
- Develop and implement individualized health plans (IHP) or plans of care in collaboration with healthcare and educational staff
- Conduct comprehensive health evaluations and assessments
- Provide supervision and guidance to mother nursing staff or other medical personnel involved in the students care
- Ensure compliance with all relevant school nursing standards and regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required; Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) will not be considered
- Proven experience in school nursing or pediatric care settings
- Specialized training and proficiency in tracheostomy care
- Strong knowledge of creating and managing individual health care plans for students with complex medical needs
- Excellent assessment and communication skills to coordinate with parents, school staff, and healthcare providers
