Step into a rewarding summer role making a positive difference in students lives as a Registered Nurse serving one health room. This contract opportunity offers an engaging environment where youll provide high-quality care and support during the Extended School Year (ESY) session, from July 6 to August 14. With consistent daytime hours from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, youll have the chance to work closely with students, staff, and families while enjoying a predictable schedule.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active NY State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous experience as a school nurse or working in pediatric or school-based environments preferred
- Outstanding clinical skills with the ability to respond calmly and efficiently in urgent situations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
- Must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and a team player
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee health services in a single school health room
- Administer medications, manage student care plans, and respond to student illnesses and injuries
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff regarding health issues
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in line with state and school policies
- Promote a safe, healthy school environment and participate in any relevant training or leadership activities
- Provide education and support regarding healthy habits, hygiene, and student wellness
