Job Description
Provide specialized nursing care as a Student Support 1:1 Registered Nurse in a school setting, supporting a medically fragile student with complex health needs. This full-semester contract position is based in Osseo, MN, requiring onsite presence approximately 31 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include administering comprehensive care to a student with tracheostomy, ventilator support, gastrostomy (G) and jejunostomy (J) feeding tubes, ostomy management, and use of oxygen therapy. Duties involve tracheostomy care, ostomy bag changes, medication administration (including nasally delivered seizure medications), respiratory treatments with nebulizer, monitoring adrenal insufficiency, and managing continuous G-J tube feedings. The role requires vigilant health monitoring, emergency response readiness, and collaboration with educational staff to support the students health and learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proven experience in tracheostomy care
- Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Ability to manage complex medical equipment and provide critical care within an educational environment
