As a full-time District Nurse, youll serve a diverse student community, collaborating with educational staff to ensure a safe, healthy school atmosphere during the 2026/2027 school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a lasting positive impact while enjoying meaningful engagement with students, families, and staff.
As part of this team, youll receive competitive compensation of $40$45 an hour.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, with strong clinical skills
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric care setting highly preferred
- Strong organizational abilities and ability to respond quickly in urgent situations
- Effective communicator, adept at liaising with students, parents, and multidisciplinary staff
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining health records and following confidentiality regulations
- Enthusiasm for working in an educational environment with students of all ages
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer first aid, medications, and prescribed treatments to students as needed
- Monitor and manage chronic conditions, health plans, and immunization compliance
- Collaborate with counselors, educators, and administration to coordinate student care
- Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate health documentation
- Support health education efforts and promote wellness in the school community
- Respond to health emergencies and implement necessary interventions quickly and effectively
