Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or Illinois Certified School Nurse credentials
- Experience or interest in pediatric, school, or community health nursing
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately in emergencies
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to elementary school-aged students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions
- Serve as a health resource and collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents regarding students' health needs
- Monitor student immunization records and ensure compliance with state and district policies
- Conduct routine health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.)
- Support individualized health plans and participate in educational meetings as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely health records and documentation
