Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in students' lives as a dedicated school nurse for the upcoming academic year. Work with a supportive educational community thats passionate about fostering student well-being and serving diverse, vibrant learners in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Key Qualifications:
- Active School Nurse certification in accordance with Illinois state and district requirements, as well as a current RN license
- Minimum of three years of recent experience as a school nurse, preferably in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws relevant to school health services
- Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish) are a plus
- CPR and PALS certifications preferred
What Youll Do:
- Deliver comprehensive health care and nursing services to students from Kindergarten to 8th grade
- Assess and manage student health concerns, administer medication, and provide emergency interventions as needed throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with faculty, families, and outside healthcare providers to ensure a structured, compassionate approach to student care
- Maintain confidential health records and implement individualized care plans in accordance with state, federal, and school guidelines
- Serve as an advocate, educator, and trusted resource for students, families, and school staff
- Provide health education, disease prevention, and wellness promotion programs within the school setting
Work Details:
- Full-time contract role, covering the 2026-2027 academic year
- Set hours during the school day
- Kindergarten through 8th grade student population across two campus locations
