This full-time contract opportunity places you in the school's health room, providing essential care and supporting the overall wellbeing of students and staff.
Your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate presence will be vital as you handle daily health assessments, administer medication, respond to medical emergencies, and promote a healthy school environment. Youll have the chance to impact students across grade levels, working collaboratively with teachers, counselors, and administrators to offer the best possible care.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Experience with pediatric or school-age populations preferred
- Previous work in a school or health room setting is a plus
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergencies
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to students for injuries, chronic conditions, and illnesses
- Administer medications according to physician orders and district policies
- Maintain accurate documentation of health assessments and treatments
- Develop and implement care plans for students with complex medical needs
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and healthcare providers
- Promote healthy behaviors and reinforce infection control measures
- Support school health screenings and immunization compliance
