Job Description

A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is available for a dynamic healthcare professional interested in providing specialized nursing care within a school setting focused on supporting K-12 students, including those with visual impairments. This travel opportunity is located in Nottingham, MD, offering a unique chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children attending a school for the blind.

Work Schedule and Environment:

  • Full-time commitment of 35 evening hours, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Friday from 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM
  • Responsible for nursing care supporting a diverse student population aged K-12
  • Physical requirements include the ability to push and pull 100+ pounds and lift up to 50 pounds, ensuring mobility and safety within the school environment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required
  • Demonstrated experience in school nursing or a similar healthcare setting is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to respond swiftly to medical needs and emergencies in a structured school setting

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct nursing care and health assessments tailored to K-12 students in a school for the blind
  • Managing health records and medication administration
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support student health and educational success
  • Ensuring compliance with health policies and protocols within the school environment
