Job Description
A Registered Nurse is needed to provide specialized nursing care within an elementary school setting in Bradford, VT. This contract position offers 10 hours per week, scheduled from 1 PM to 3 PM, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 2025.
The primary responsibility is to deliver one-on-one medically fragile support to a student, ensuring their health and safety during the school day. This role requires close collaboration with educators and other school staff to support the student's individual health needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and support to a medically fragile elementary student on a one-to-one basis
- Monitor the student's health status and administer treatments or medications as ordered
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and observations
- Collaborate with school personnel and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies or health concerns as they arise
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working with medically fragile pediatric patients preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently within a school environment
