Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Virginia
- Previous experience in a school setting or direct pediatric care preferred
- Confident skills managing tracheostomy and gastrostomy tube (g-tube) care
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff, students, and families
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach and the ability to adapt to dynamic school environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day, ensuring the students health and comfort
- Monitor and maintain trach and g-tube, responding promptly to any emergencies
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment plans as directed by healthcare providers
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate student participation in daily activities
- Maintain detailed documentation of care and health status, updating records as required
