This opportunity is for registered nurses seeking a full-time contract position in a K-12 school setting located in New Orleans, LA. Three licensed RNs are needed to support the health room and attend to students' health needs throughout the school year.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), although Associate degrees in Nursing (ASN) will also be considered. The position requires professional nursing skills with a focus on pediatric and school health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and health assessments for students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Manage the health room, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and document student health conditions and communicate with parents and staff
- Participate in health education initiatives and emergency response planning
- Maintain compliance with state and school health policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Current RN license, eligible to practice in Louisiana
- BSN preferred; ASN acceptable
- Experience working with school-age children or in pediatric nursing beneficial
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work full-time, 35 hours per week
